Was there really a nationally-ranked drag strip at the Ramona Airport?  Who was Ramona's famous female author of best-selling children's books?  A new book, "Images of America: Ramona, California" by local author and historian Richard L. Carrico answers these questions, with a slide presentation at 12:30 focusing on images and stories from the new book.  The new book autographed by the author will be available for purchase with a portion of the proceeds going to the Woodward Museum. Richard explains that the book is a collaborative effort between him and the Guy B. Woodward Museum.  Carrico knows about the value of research, he is a lecturer in the Department of American Indian Studies at San Diego State University, has written three other books, is a well-known archaeologist, and has more than 30 published academic articles.  His previous award winning book Strangers in a Stolen Land: Indians of San Diego County is used in university and college courses throughout the West.
